In general, we provide two different forms of housing solutions for aspiring residents.
As mandated by our charter, public housing is limited to low-income individuals and persons with disabilities and hardships. To determine overall eligibility for public housing, we review the following:
1. Annual gross income
2. Whether you are elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family
3. US citizenship/immigration status
4. US Military Veteran
If you are eligible, we will check your references to make sure you and your family will be good tenants. We will deny admission to any applicant whose habits and practices may be expected to have a detrimental effect on other tenants or on the project's environment.
Senior Public Housing
All applicants looking to move into a senior housing location (Iris or Terraces), must be 62 years and older or veterans who are 55 years and older.
Griffin Housing Authority is actively promoting progressive housing through its full service homeownership program, WEALTH.
All Other Housing Solutions
Perhaps you are not in need of assisted housing or our homeownership program, we can still be a resource for helping you learn about the housing options available to you in the City of Griffin/Spalding County community under our landlord listing program.
